The GPS 36 has twelve parallel channels, is WAAS / EGNOS enabled and based on the Sony III GPS chipset, it can operate to impressively low signal levels of –152 dBm making reception possible in challenging circumstances. It has a lithium ion battery providing up to ten hours use when fully charged. It comes with a car socket charger and a mains adapter.
Microsoft Autoroute 2006 provides navigation on your PC, laptop or compatible Tablet PC. The Pocket Streets utility allows you to export maps to your Pocket PC or compatible smartphone.
Autoroute 2006 now provides coverage of 3.4 million miles of roads across 27 European countries, 850,000 points of interest such as restaurants and cashpoint machines.
New in this version, Autoroute supports voice prompts for entirely hands-free operation. You can set it to automatically rotate maps in the direction of travel, and easily see coming manoeuvres with the automatic magnified views. A night colour scheme is also now supported.
Autoroute is flexible and can be set to include breaks, it supports multiple stops and will automatically optimise the order of stops on a journey. If you go off the route, a single click will quickly find a new route from where you are.
Full postcode navigation and a battery of different ways to search for locations makes it very easy to find your destination.
Set up custom speeds to reflect your driving style, configure refuelling warnings / stops, calculate your expenses, schedule automatic stops, and indicate your preferences for different types of road.
You can even save a map / route as a website.
